Qui nous sommes
Gordon Neighbourhood House (GNH) began in 1942 as a place for residents in Vancouver’s West End to meet their neighbours. For over 80 years GNH has worked closely with residents, businesses, and organizations to create dozens of programs, services and initiatives that respond to the needs and dreams of our neighbourhood.
Ce que nous faisons
Our Mission is to move together to build connection and opportunity in our neighbourhood – for today and tommorow. We achieve this through providing a wide variety of free or low cost events and programming for the community including neighbourhood clean team, young ideas programming, food security programming, meal programming, gardening programming, seniors programming, childcare programming, family programming, counselling services, a thrift store, languages programming, and special events.
Our team of dedicated staff and passionate volunteers strives to ensure that the West End is a vibrant, diverse, and resilient neighbourhood where everyone is empowered to play an active role in our community. Gordon Neighbourhood House is a charitable organization that relies on the support of our public and private partners, donors, and volunteers. Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization, and we would not exist without our volunteers. Volunteering provides benefits such as making a lasting difference in the community, rewarding experiences, meet neighbours, gain valuable skills, knowledge, and experience; free meals; appreciation events, letters of reference and certificates of appreciation.
