About ISSofBC:
For more than 50 years, ISSofBC has welcomed and supported newcomers as they build their lives in British Columbia. We help immigrants and refugees settle into their communities, learn English, find work, and build connections in Canada.
Through our programs, staff, volunteers and community connections, newcomers can access information, develop skills, meet people and feel more connected to their new communities. At the heart of our work is a belief that communities are stronger when everyone feels welcome and has the opportunity to belong and succeed.

What We Do
ISSofBC supports newcomers as they build their lives in British Columbia.
We provide settlement, English language, education and employment services to help immigrants, refugees and other newcomers navigate life in Canada, build their skills, find work and connect with their communities.
Our settlement services provide practical information, guidance and connections to help newcomers understand and access services, navigate systems and become more connected to their communities. Our employment and career services help newcomers prepare for the Canadian labour market, develop job-search skills, explore career opportunities and connect with employers.
Through our programs, staff, volunteers and community connections, we work to create welcoming and inclusive communities where newcomers can build a sense of belonging and have opportunities to succeed.
