Who We Are
The Moose Hide Campaign is an Indigenous-led, grassroots movement of men, boys and all Canadians standing up against violence towards women, children and all those along the gender continuum.
What We Do
Rooted in Indigenous ways of being and learning, the Moose Hide Campaign gifts small squares of moose hide that are worn to signify personal commitment to honour, respect, and protect the women and children in one's life and work with others to create safe spaces. Considered traditional medicine, the moose hide pins are never bought nor sold, but are shared as a means of addressing the social illness of gender-based and domestic violence.
Moose Hide Campaign Day is an annual day of ceremony and learning that all Canadians are welcomed to join as a concrete action on the path of reconciliation. It is an invitation to partake in Indigenous-led ceremony, to learn from Knowledge Keepers, and to stand in solidarity as we work together to end the violence that impacts us all. Moose Hide Campaign Day is hosted in communities across Canada and is available virtually as events are livestreamed from Victoria, BC and workshops offered online. This year we gather on May 16, 2024 and warmly invite you to join us in the way that feels most meaningful to you.
Volunteer with us in Victoria, host an event in your community and find ways of sharing the medicine of the moose hide with your family, co-workers and/or friends.
