Gratitude Park Society

Who We Are

We are a community-driven initiative led by the Ukrainian community in Vancouver, inspired by the profound gratitude felt after receiving refuge and support in Canada during the war in Ukraine. Together with Indigenous Peoples, local cultural groups, volunteers, and partners, we are creating an inclusive, sustainable public space that recognizes the generosity of Canadians, honours the wisdom of the First Nations, and embraces the contributions of more than 50 cultural communities. We are united by a shared belief: life is above all, and gratitude is the path to peace and solidarity.

What We Do

We are building Gratitude Park, a multicultural eco-space in Vancouver that serves as a living symbol of reconciliation, memory, and unity. The park combines cultural representation, environmental sustainability, education, and digital innovation (VR/AR, interactive archives, and the Wall of Gratitude). It is a place where people can honour life, cultivate gratitude, plant family trees, share personal and community stories, and celebrate diversity through festivals, events, and cultural zones. Our mission is to foster social cohesion, ecological awareness, and intercultural dialogue, while preserving collective memory and strengthening ties across generations.
