CMHA is a federated charity made up of local branches across Canada that share a common mission and identity. We work together to address the country’s most urgent mental health challenges. We provide direct support and services that millions of Canadians depend on every day. Over the years, CMHA BC has actively worked to improve laws and policies that impact people living with mental illness. Their advocacy has helped expand access to housing, income supports, and community-based care options. Through these efforts, CMHA BC has played a key role in shaping and reforming the mental health care system across the province. Today, we’re proud to be one of over 330 branches across the country, working together to build healthier, more inclusive communities.

Our vision is mentally healthy people, mentally healthy community. We prioritize amplifying the voices of individuals living with mental health and addiction challenges. Our work is rooted in inclusion, collaboration, and a commitment to addressing broader social factors like housing and justice that impact well-being. We support people of all ages, base our efforts on research and proven practices, and remain open and accountable in everything we do. The organization runs outreach services, peer support initiatives, and wellness activities that foster connection, dignity, and recovery. CMHA Kamloops operates five core programs that provide essential housing support to individuals facing mental health, addiction, or homelessness challenges. Three of these programs are shelters, offering short-term, emergency accommodations and basic needs support. The other two are subsidized housing units, which provide longer-term, stable living environments with wraparound services to help residents maintain wellness and independence.
