Ce que nous faisons

Yarrow is filled with talented, passionate people who care about their community. United Way’s Community Re-builder Initiative supports Yarrow residents just like you to help your community rebuild and recover from the floods of 2021.

Our Local Love Fund provides grants of up to $1,000 to help you make a difference in the ways that matter most to you and to your community. It might be providing hot meals for cleanup efforts, helping people refurbish flood-damaged furniture or providing essential items so people can return to their homes and farms. We call these acts of local love. And we’re here to help you make it happen.

Our team is in communities across the Fraser Valley working with area residents to promote the health, well-being, and resilience of our communities.

What is a Local Love Microgrant?

United Way BC’s Hi Neighbour Local Love Microgrant is a funding opportunity to help residents in Hi Neighbour communities start projects that bring people together to create friendly, more connected neighbourhoods.

How much funding can I receive through the Local Love Microgrant?

You can get up to $1,000 to make your community project idea a reality.

Who can apply for this grant?

Priority is given to those who live in a Hi Neighbour community. However, if you work in the community but have a project idea that will benefit it, we encourage you to speak with the local Hi Neighbour Community Builder. All applicants must be 18 years old, or have an adult sponsor.

What kind of projects does the Local Love Microgrant fund?

We’re looking for projects that help people come together and meet each other. We especially support ideas that promote cultural awareness, diversity and inclusivity, and improve the community's well-being.

Will I get help with my project?

Yes! If your project is funded, your Hi Neighbour Community Builder will help you plan, offer advice, and provide support to ensure its success.

When will I find out if my project is approved for funding?

We’ll let you know within a month after you apply if your project will receive funding.

Am I guaranteed to get funding for my project if I apply?

While we value every submission, funding is not guaranteed. We can only fund projects that meet certain criteria and help achieve Hi Neighbour’s goals for community well-being. If you’re not sure if your project fits, reach out to your local Community Builder to chat about your idea.
