Do you really need a Job Description?
Yes. It is an absolute must. Job Descriptions is one of the many key elements of successful volunteer programs for many different and important reasons:
- It serves as a screening tool;
- It serves as an evaluation tool;
- It serves as a guide, and;
- It protects you from a risk management perspective.
Volunteer job descriptions adds structure to your program as it clearly defines the boundaries of what volunteers can be involved with the role they are in. It also sets a clear outline of the expectations you have of your volunteers as it helps them understand their role better.
