Position Summary: The Community Outreach Volunteer supports the Kapwa Centre for Community Resilience’s mission of fostering community through trauma-informed, culturally grounded programming. This role involves preparing safe and welcoming event spaces, distributing flyers to raise awareness, and engaging community members with care and respect. Volunteers contribute to creating environments where people of all backgrounds can gather, heal, and connect. Ideal for individuals who value grassroots work, relational care, and collective well-being. Please note: Some community events and programming may take place on evenings or weekends.
Qualifications: Commitment to practicing trauma-informed principles (e.g., choice, trustworthiness, empowerment, collaboration, cultural awareness).Able to complete light physical tasks (e.g., lifting chairs, setting up tables).Reliable, grounded, and comfortable working in community settings.Experience or interest in community-based outreach and working with migrant, diasporic, or racialized communities is an asset.Willingness to learn and receive feedback in a supportive environment.Preferred, but not required: Psychological First Aid (PFA) TrainingHow to Apply: Please fill out this Google form. Filipino BC is looking for online content creators who are passionate about using social media and online mediums for education and advocacy. Creator Educators will create educational content in various formats such as: posts, stories, videos, infographics, podcasts, blogs, and online courses.
With the support of the Project Director and Director of Marketing of Communications, Creator Educators will develop educational content – focused on but not limited to arts, culture, and heritage of the Filipino community and related communities (Asian, Southeast Asia, Austronesian, Pasifika), anti-racism, mental health, current events, social issues, individual features and more.
Creator Educators can be from anywhere!
We are looking for community-members who are interested in creating content in their own voice. Our aim is to have a platform with community led content, by us for everyone!
We are looking for Creator Educators who are willing to submit regular content 1-2 times a month. Creator Educators should have some familiarity with Canva or other content creation software and platforms.
