Volunteer: Mentors for Mentorship ProgramKamloops Immigrant Services (KIS) helps newcomers in Canada with free programs and services designed to reach their goals and dreams in their new life in Kamloops and the Thompson-Nicola Region. Mentorship program empowers, inspires and builds friendships by matching mentors and mentees based on shared interests for three months. This is the right role for you if you are someone who: Friendly, reliable, and patient Comfortable working with people of different ages and abilities Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow directions and work as part of a teamMentor's main tasks are: Build a positive, respectful, and supportive relationship with your mentee Provide guidance, share experiences, and help set and achieve goals Meet regularly with your mentee (in-person or virtually, based on availability and program structure) Maintain confidentiality and establish healthy boundaries Communicate with program staff and participate in training or check-ins as neededPrevious experience required. No training provided Time commitment: 1hr/week. We ask that volunteers commit to at least 3 months.
