The Lillooet Learning Communities Society (Lillooet Learns) as the host organization of the Community Connect Innovation HUB and associated programs, has helped the Arts Lillooet Collective grow into its own society to pursue funding specifically for arts programs in our communities.

This position helps support the Arts Lillooet board as it begins its journey as a newly registered society.

The Lillooet Learning Communities Society (Lillooet Learns) as the host organization of the Community Connect Innovation HUB and associated programs, is growing in size and is looking to increase financial expertise on the Board of Directors. 

This position helps support the Lillooet Learns board and oversee the financials of the non-profit organization. This position is good for someone that has knowledge and some experience in financial reporting, management and basic bookkeeping.

What You Will Help With:

Attend regular board meetings and leading budget discussionsMonitor the organization’s financial health and make recommendationsAssist in financial reporting and complianceWork with the Managing Director to develop strategic direction based on finances

This program offers practical, day-to-day support that helps seniors maintain their independence and remain actively engaged in their community.

This position helps to provide supported transportation to seniors in the Lillooet Area for appointments.

What You Will Help With: Driving seniors and assisting them to get to their medical or other essential appointments.Picking the seniors up after the appointment to take them home. In some cases, a senior may need extra support. You may walk them to the reception desk and pick them up at the reception desk afterward.Volunteers do not attend medical appointments.

The Lillooet Learning Communities Society (Lillooet Learns), based in Lillooet, BC, is the host of the Community Connect HUB and its associated programs. Located on Main Street, the HUB storefront supports local economic development by providing artisans, crafters, food producers, and farmers with a space to showcase and sell their work. It also serves as a welcoming community hub where local groups gather for workshops, events, and conversations focused on shared goals for the region.

This position is for someone who loves speaking to people, promoting local events and products and who is outgoing.

What You Will Help With:

You will have shifts in the HUB store and interact with community members during open hours.

This involves:

Greeting and telling community members and tourists about upcoming events Selling the products in the store and ringing items through the sales systemGiving out paperwork and inviting people to become membersCleaning and tidying the areaAssisting with event setup and attending events if interestedCalling store vendors and renewing membership as required

What You Will Help With: Meeting with a senior 1-2 times monthly in person and/or by phone.Collaborate with the senior to plan the activity you want to do together.Simple activities could include having friendly conversations, walking in the neighbourhood, colouring, simple art projects, baking, having coffee or tea, playing cards or a game, reading, watching TV and talking about the program afterward, and connecting the senior with community resources.

What You Will Help With:

Light cleaning and tidying of homes as described below:

Vacuuming

Dusting

Sweeping

Surface cleaning of floors, kitchen, and bathrooms

Cleaning and organizing the fridge

Emptying the garbage/recycling/compost

Emptying the dishwasher/ dish rack

Making the bed with fresh clean bedding

Visiting and chatting with clients
