Cleaner/Cuddler Volunteers at Sammy’s Forgotten Felines play a vital role in creating a clean, calm, and comforting environment for the cats in our care. From scooping litter boxes to sharing quiet cuddle time, every task you do supports the health and happiness of our rescued felines. 

Your presence helps cats feel secure—and your efforts make their transition to forever homes smoother and more successful. 

This is the right role for you if you are someone who: 

Loves cats and enjoys spending time with them. 

Is comfortable cleaning litter boxes and doing light cleaning tasks. 

Can work independently and follow instructions. 

Wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of rescued animals. 

Has reliable transportation to our shelter in Dallas. 

Is dependable and able to commit to a regular volunteer shift. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Scoop and refresh litter boxes. 

Refill food and water dishes. 

Wipe down surfaces, sweep, and maintain clean, organized spaces. 

Spend time socializing, petting, and comforting the cats. 

Follow shelter guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment. 

Time Commitment: 
We ask that volunteers commit to ___ hrs per week, with a general commitment of 4 months. The time required is flexible and can work with your schedule. 

No experience is needed—just a kind heart and a love for cats. Training is provided on-site, and you’ll always have support from fellow volunteers or staff. 
 
Must have reliable transportation to Dallas.

Fostering is flexible, rewarding, and perfect for students, working professionals, or anyone who wants to make a difference from the comfort of their own home. 

Whether you’re home between classes, working remotely, or studying at night, your time, space, and love could be exactly what a cat needs to heal, grow, and get ready for a forever home. 

This is the right role for you if you are someone who: 

Loves cats but isn’t ready for full-time pet ownership. 

Has a calm, safe indoor space to care for a cat temporarily. 

Can transport cats to vet appointments, if needed. 

Has landlord permission if renting. 

Is dependable and able to follow care instructions. 

Wants to make a tangible, personal difference in an animal’s life. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Provide daily care, feeding, and love to your foster cat. 

Monitor health and behavior and communicate with our team as needed. 

Transport your foster cat to veterinary appointments if required. 

Help your foster cat get socialized and ready for adoption! 

Time Commitment: 

We ask that volunteers agree to foster cats on an as needed basis. Fostering is an ongoing responsibility once started. Each cat will have different fostering needs and time commitment. 

Sammy’s provides everything you need, including: 

Food, litter, toys, and all basic supplies. 

Vet care and medical support. 

Ongoing guidance from our foster coordinator. 

Help a cat, gain a furry study buddy, and make a difference. 

Must be able to transport cats to vet appointments, if required.  

Do you love planning events, spreading the word, or simply lending a hand where it’s needed? Join Sammy’s Forgotten Felines as an Events & Marketing Volunteer and help us raise the funds and awareness needed to care for our cats. 

From brainstorming fresh fundraising ideas to helping at events or promoting our mission online and in the community—there’s a place for everyone on our team. 

This is the right role for you if you are someone who: 

Enjoys planning, organizing, or coordinating events. 

Is creative, enthusiastic, and full of ideas. 

Likes talking to people and building community support. 

Is comfortable using social media or promotional tools (or willing to learn). 

Wants to make a real difference for homeless cats through advocacy and action. 

Can commit to occasional planning meetings and/or event shifts. 

Key Responsibilities (based on your interests and skills): 

Help brainstorm and plan fundraising events and community initiatives. 

Promote events through social media, posters, and word of mouth. 

Lend a hand during events—setting up, greeting guests, selling merchandise, etc. 

Connect with local businesses and organizations for sponsorships or donations. 

Support ongoing marketing efforts to grow awareness of Sammy’s mission. 

Time Commitment: 
The time you commit is flexible, Sammy’s runs events throughout the year and is always in need of volunteers.
