Volunteer: Sport Program VolunteersSpecial Olympics BC provides high-quality year-round sport programs and competitions that help people with intellectual disabilities celebrate personal achievement and gain confidence, skills, and friendships. Special Olympics BC offers summer and winter sports for ages eight and up, youth programs for ages two to 18, Athlete Leadership opportunities, and health programs. As a Sport Program Volunteer, you’ll support athletes directly by assisting the head coach during practices. You’ll help create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where athletes can develop skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of sport—no prior sport experience is required. As an Admin Volunteer, you’ll play an important behind-the-scenes role that helps keep our sport programs running smoothly. You’ll contribute to the SOBC – Kamloops local committee, where your organizational and communication skills ensure programs are set up, supported, and sustained throughout the year. Each role has different tasks that, but all committee members come together monthly to discuss the last month and any upcoming items.
