Volunteer: Move For Sight - Event Day Volunteer

Move For Sight is an annual fundraising event for Fighting Blindness Canada, to raise funds and awareness for vision research, treatments, and education, brining hope to those in experiencing vision loss.

 

This year's Move For Sight 2026 Ambassadors (Vancouver locals!), are working hard to make sure this event is a huge community success. We need your help to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely for all involved.

 

What does a Move For Sight Event Day Volunteer do? A variety of roles are available:

Registration - help sign in participants, collect fundraising forms and money Route Marshall - be the cheerleader/encourager while ensuring participants stay along the marked path Refreshments Monitor- ensure everyone stays hydrated before/after their 'move' activity Activities Zone - games, colouring, yoga, etc - help explain/encourage game play and activities available Set up/Tear Down - everyone pitches in to get the stations set up before the event officially begins, and we all work together after

Our ideal volunteer is over 16 (or has a parent/guardian supervising); enthusiastic, compassionate and willing to learn about the vision loss community. We welcome all volunteers to tell a friend, coworker or sign up together as a small group (up to 5).

To join us as a volunteer, APPLY NOW.  Attend a mandatory (virtual) orientation & training session  NOTE: Virtual orientation is planned for May 20 or 21 (if needed, additional dates will be made available).
