Food Hub clean up needed Saturdays in PoCo

Description

Can you help with end of day wrap up at a local Food Hub?

The Local Love Food Hub is a hive of activity in Port Coquitlam on Fridays and Saturdays.  Generously donated prepared meals, groceries and hamper items are sorted and delivered by our team of volunteers and distributed weekly to Tri-Cities families in need.

We need 2 volunteers weekly to assist in sweeping, flattening cardboard, loading the truck after distribution.  If you can help for two hours on Saturdays please respond to this opportunity.

We appreciate your contribution!  Please contact Jan at jan.waldbillig@westcoastfamily.org with any questions you may have.

Time Commitment: 2 hours

This a one time commitment to fulfill an immediate need.  You are welcome to sign up for more than one shift. Future dates for this opportunity will be posted soon.

Your health and safety are important to us.

The safety of our clients, staff, and volunteers is of utmost importance to us. We have taken steps to ensure our offices are prepared: sanitized frequently, signage is in place for staff and visitors to practice physical distancing and that gloves, mandatory masks and sanitizer are readily accessible. Our office sites will remain closed to the public to limit the number of people accessing the building. Staff are required to follow all Public Health guidelines related to COVID-19 including regular hand washing, social distancing as much as possible, and wearing a mask.

If you are feeling flu-like symptoms (fever, tiredness, coughing or congestion), do NOT come to your scheduled session. Stay home.

If you have been exposed to the virus, you must self-isolate for two (2) weeks. Even if you don’t feel symptoms, you must self-isolate for 14 days if you have been travelling or otherwise exposed to the virus (i.e. been in contact with a person with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19). Make sure to call the WFC Staff to let them know within 24 hours of your volunteer shift, and it is recommended that you call 8-1-1 for medical advice.

If you are at all unsure of your health status, the BC Centre for Disease Control’s online self-assessment tool is available at https://bc.thrive.health/
