Expired

Description

Can you be a walking companion for a neighbour in your area?

As a Walking Buddy you will help a neighbour with a knee injury and 3 adorable dogs by accompanying them on their evening walk. Looking for a kind and genuine volunteer!

How this works:

Once you've responded to this opportunity, we'll email the contact information to you.

Contact: If you have questions about this volunteer opportunity, please contact info@vanecovillage.com.

Time Commitment: 1 hour.

This is a commitment with recurring shifts. The neighbour will need a volunteer from 9:30-10:30 pm daily (feel free to sign up for multiple shifts below).

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR VOLUNTEERS: Please contact info@vanecovillage.com immediately if:

  • you feel unwell before or on the day of your shift. Please stay home and do not volunteer.
  • you are unable to fulfill your shift commitment. If possible, please try to provide a minimum notice of two days to allow us to make alternate arrangements or find another volunteer.

REMINDER: It’s important to unregister yourself from the shift if you’re unable to fulfill your commitment – this will allow another volunteer to register for your spot.

Your health and safety are important to us

Maintain physical distancing by keeping a minimum 2-meter distance between you and any other person not in your immediate family.

Wearing a non-medical mask or face covering while out in public is recommended for periods of time when it's not possible to consistently maintain a 2-metre physical distance from others, particularly in crowded public settings.

Avoid touching your face and in particular your eyes, nose and mouth.

Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and often. Wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds and rinse under clean running water.

If you are unwell, please stay home and do not volunteer. If you are at all unsure of your health status, the BC Centre for Disease Control’s online self-assessment tool is available at https://covid19.thrive.health/
