Family Caregiver Support Group meetings: Do you enjoy interacting with seniors and working with older adults? The Famly & Friend Caregiver Support Program is looking to fill the following volunteer positions:
- Volunteer each Thursday afternoon from 1pm to 3:30pm as a supportive person preparing refreshments for each event - setting up and taking down tables and chairs for each event (peer facilitators would arrive half an hour before the meeting begins to set up the venue and prepare refreshments, and would stay up to half an hour later to wash up cups and take down tables and chairs)
- As a trained Peer Facilitator. To be a Peer Facilitator, experience as a past caregiver of an older adult is desirable. Training will be provided. (See listing entitled "Peer Co-Facilitator for Caregiver Support Group" for further details).
- Volunteer as a "Friendly Visitor" providing respite to the Caregiver providing them the opportunity to attend our workshops. This would be a social visit only.
Successful applicants will:
- Agree to an interview by phone
- Complete CNHPS’s orientation process (submit a volunteer application form, attend a virtual orientation session, and sign volunteer consent forms)
- Submit a clean criminal record check (can be completed online via the iVolunteer site, or contact us if you prefer to submit a paper copy to the local police station at no charge)
- Live in Chilliwack or be willing to come to Chilliwack and have transportation to visit the client
