Join our vibrant Edmonds Community Garden team to help nurture our garden and give back to the community.
About the role:
Volunteers play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our community garden. Your efforts will directly contribute to providing fresh, nutritious produce to seniors and other vulnerable individuals in our community. Whether you have a green thumb or are new to gardening, this is an excellent opportunity to learn, share, grow and significantly impact the Edmonds community.
This volunteer opportunity is ideal for gardening enthusiasts of all ages who love working outdoors, individuals looking to contribute to our community and support those in need, families looking for a meaningful, educational activity to do together, and students or young adults who want to gain experience in horticulture and community service.
Key responsibilities:
Some responsibilities may include:
- Assist with various gardening tasks, including planting, weeding, watering and maintaining garden beds
- Participate in the harvesting of produce
- Help distribute harvested produce to food hubs (and possibly to the homes of seniors and other vulnerable individuals) in the community
- Attend an orientation session and training provided by our team
Volunteer hours:
Saturdays:
- 9:30 AM - 11 AM OR
- 5 PM - 7 PM

Safe volunteering tips for Summer:
- Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water before, during and after your volunteer shift.
- Wear sunscreen, a hat, and light, breathable clothing to protect yourself from the sun.
- Take breaks in shaded areas to avoid overheating.
- Wear sturdy, close-toed shoes to protect your feet while working in the garden
- Wear gardening gloves
