Strive (Try It Sports Event) Volutneer

Expired

Description

Studies show that girls that are involved in sport are more likely to have an increased level of self confidence and a higher academic success rate. However, some girls never get the opportunity to try a sport that they might come to love. The purpose of this event is to allow girls between the ages of 5 and 12 the chance to try out a sport that they would not otherwise have the chance to play. This will be an all-day sports event for girls, and it will include Hockey, Basketball, Softball, Skateboarding and more. Sport activities will be led by several league partners including the AFHA, AMFA, Replay skateboarding, LEAD basketball and more. This event is being organized by Community Champion Rupi Rajwan in partnership with the United Way BC and will take place at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre on Monday March 13th (first Monday of Spring Break).

We are looking for 10-15 event volunteers to assist with registration, swag giveaways, food table, lost child table, and direct parents and attendees to upcoming activities. There will be two volunteer shifts available:

9 am-1pm (Set-up help included)  and 1pm to 4:30 (Clean-up help included).
