About Us:
The Surrey Urban Farmers Market takes place in the parking lot at Royal Kwantlen Park, situated at the corner of 104th Avenue and Old Yale Rd.
The market is open to the public from 10 am to 3 pm on the following Saturdays: June 15 & 29, July 6 & 20, August 3, 17 & 31, September 14 & 28, and October 5th (our last market of the season).
We are a vibrant farmer’s market is a multicultural, non-profit organisation that honours local farmers, food producers, artisans, crafters, and community groups. Operated by a dedicated team of volunteers, our goal is to enhance connection within our diverse community.
About this role:
Do you like working with youth? Are you interested in helping young people learn about fruits and vegetables, making arts and crafts or playing games? We are looking for volunteers that like working with kids at our farmers market.
We have a kids club called the Power of Produce and we need a couple of people to run the club. The Power of Produce teaches children about fruits and vegetables, pollinators and farmers. The kids zone also has other arts, crafts and fun games.

Time Commitment:
We are open from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It would be wonderful if you can join us for the full day. If you can only do part of the day, that will be wonderful too!
The booth gets set up between 9am to 10am and it gets put away from 3pm to 4pm.

We require a criminal record check for those working with vulnerable populations (youth). This can be done for free through the police department. We can provide you with a letter and there will be no cost to you. Please provide us with a copy of the results to the volunteer@surreymarket.org email.
