Join our experienced, dedicated, and well-organized team of volunteer leaders to help plan and deliver the 2022 Investors Group Walk for Alzheimer's.

Interested parties will participate in a general interview for a volunteer committee position; at that time, you can request a role based on your skills and experience. Specific task will be assigned to successful candidates during the first committee meeting.

Walk chairs and event committees have the autonomy to design and delegate roles that cater to the needs of the local walk - each committee may have a unique structure and list of tasks that must be accomplished to deliver a successful fundraising event. Examples of common volunteer roles are listed below along with a link that will provide you with a more comprehensive breakdown of tasks that may be assigned to a committee member.

  • Recruitment Coordinator
  • Teams Coordinator
  • Sponsorship Coordinator
  • Refreshments Coordinator
  • Prize Coordinator
  • Volunteer Coordinator
  • Accounting Coordinator
  • Registration Coordinator
  • Route Marshal
  • Site Coordinator

Time commitments vary from position to position and may increase closer to the event. Monthly committee meetings are generally held in the evening and are mandatory for all members. 

General Requirements / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Competent computer/email skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience planning or hosting events is an asset
