The Youth Action Group is a youth-led organization that develops leaders and their advocacy skills. We operate out of Mission, BC. Our mandate is to provide youth with advocacy services to ensure that their voice is heard, and to ensure youth get the services and programs that they need.
We are looking to add a dedicated individual who has an interest in fundraising. Funds that we raise go into several initiatives such as:
Backpacks for Youth: We provide backpacks filled with school supplies to youth at no charge. All we ask is for a self-identified need.
OnePass: OnePass is a program designed to provide youth with an avenue to advocate for services and programs they need. With OnePass, we provide a recreation pass to youth who are in need with the requirement of volunteer hours. Youth get special perks by being members of OnePass such as 15% off at Karla's Specialteas.
Youth Council: Youth Council ensures that all youth have their voices heard. In conjunction with OnePass, youth apply to join Youth Council. We have 11 seats available for youth in Mission. Youth who sit on the council are tasked with being a representative of all youth in the community, and they speak to concerns that youth have. They then work towards funding programs that help with alleviating or supporting the community. The youth in the council also bring forth these concerns to city council to ensure that the youth voice is heard.
We provide equipment such as a laptop, phone line, and a dedicated email to ensure that you are equipped for the role.
