Description

About this Initiative

There is a huge need for child car seats in our community. With the increase in the cost of living, these essential items are pushed down the priority list.

UWBC along with it's partners are providing new car seats that are distributed to families in need in your local community.

Volunteer Role

Role requires the physical ability to lift and carry large boxes weighing up to 12kg; the ability to communicate well with others and support the team goal of delivering the car seats to community agencies in the region specific.

Responsibilities:

  • Volunteers will be working under the direction of UWBC staff
  • Volunteers will be delivering car seats and will not be engaging with activities at the site of delivery
  • Every effort should be made to maintain safety standards and to work with others to achieve the goal
  • Able to physically lift up to 12kg
  • Able to get to one of the community hubs
  • Able to work as part of a team.

Time Commitment: Up to 2 hours

This is a one-time event; it will start at 8:30 am and all deliveries are expected to be completed by 3 pm, daily. The event

will commence on August 10th.

There will be a volunteer debrief before the event; expectations of loading and unloading vans will be explained at this time.
