Volunteers will be supporting the work of Crystal Arber & Team. They are professional EMDR therapists dedicated to improving the lives of those who have suffered PTSD acute trauma symptoms. As members of the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program they are offering their services to displaced Ukrainians in a two day workshop.
They require a few volunteers who are fluent in Ukrainian to attend the workshops for displaced Ukrainian families in need.
EDMR therapists will present the workshop in English. Volunteers are needed to translate English to Ukrainian verbally during the workshop. Volunteers will then need to translate the responses and or questions from the attendees from Ukrainian to English.
The workshop is held over two days. We are in need of two different volunteers, one for each day or the workshop.
What you will be helping with:
- Translate English to Ukrainian one sentence at a time as the Therapist presents at the workshop.
- Translate Ukrainian to English one sentence at a time as needed when Ukrainian attendees have responses and/or questions for Therapists
- Translate English to Ukrainian one sentence at a time as needed when Therapists are responding to Ukrainian attendees responses and/or questions
- Volunteers are to log their hours after each training session they respond too.
Other Helpful Information:
- Volunteers must be fluent in Ukrainian.
- Volunteers must maintain Confidentiality of all attendees & discussion at the workshop.
- Volunteers must be comfortable in a public speaking environment.
- Workshop will be held in Vancouver
- Volunteers contact information will be shared with Crystal Arber & Team.
- A Volunteer Coordinator will connect with volunteers with more information once they receive your registration for this opportunity
- Crystal Arber & Team will connect with volunteers prior to the info session to provide more information
- Lunch will be provided.
- If volunteers are no longer available to assist, please unregister from this opportunity or let coordinator know to allow new volunteers to register.
Time Commitment: up to 8 hours for 2 days. This is a recurring commitment to fulfill an immediate need.
