Role Overview:
Are you a safe, friendly driver with a bit of time to spare during the week? As
a Volunteer Driver, you'll use your own
vehicle to help local seniors get to essential medical appointments, run
errands, or attend social outings in Lake Country or Kelowna. Your support
provides more than just a ride — it offers connection, independence, and peace
of mind.
How
It Works:
You let us know when you're available, and we match you with ride requests that
fit your schedule. Whether you can commit once a month or once a week, your
time makes a real impact.
Time Commitment:
· Rides take place Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM
· Each trip lasts 1–3 hours, depending on the destination
· Flexible commitment — volunteer for as few or as many rides as your schedule allows
Your Responsibilities:
· Drive a senior safely to and from their destination
· Offer light support and companionship before, during, or after the trip
· Communicate with Lake Country Health staff and provide basic trip info if needed
What You Need:
· A friendly, patient, and respectful attitude toward seniors
· Access to a reliable vehicle in good condition
· Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance with at least $2 million liability
· Willingness to complete a criminal record check
· Ability to provide two references, plus copies of your license, insurance, and a driving abstract
Honorarium:
Volunteer Drivers receive a standard honorarium to help
offset mileage costs.
