Nanaimo Family Life Association is seeking caring, reliable volunteers to join our Friendly Visiting Program. Friendly Visitors are matched one-to-one with isolated seniors or adults in our community to provide companionship and connection.
As a Friendly Visitor, you’ll spend time with your matched client doing simple, meaningful activities such as chatting, going for short walks, playing games, or sharing hobbies. Your presence can make a powerful difference in someone’s quality of life and sense of belonging.
Volunteer commitment:
Approximately 1–2 hours per week
Minimum 6-month commitment
Visits are scheduled at times that work for both you and your client
We’re looking for volunteers who are: Compassionate and patient Good listeners Reliable and respectful Interested in building meaningful connections Training, ongoing support, and matching based on shared interests are provided.
A criminal record check is required.
