About the Event:

Celebrate Colombia's Independence Day with us! This vibrant cultural festival will feature music, dance, food, and fun activities for the whole family. We need enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help make this event a success.

This opportunity is perfect for anyone passionate about Colombian culture and wanting to immerse themselves in local traditions. It's great for individuals who want to strengthen community ties and volunteers who want hands-on event management experience.

We welcome students and young adults looking to complete volunteer hours, enhance their resumes, and improve their bilingual/multilingual skills. It's also an excellent opportunity for families with older children who want to volunteer together. 

By volunteering, you will be an integral part of bringing community together to celebrate the spirit of Colombian heritage and culture!

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer tasks may include any of the following:

  • Assisting in setting up before the event starts
  • Helping at food stations
  • Facilitating arts and crafts
  • Managing games
  • Assisting with tearing down and cleaning up after the event

Volunteer Training and Information Session:

Volunteers must attend a mandatory training session on July 2nd, 2026. During this session, you will meet volunteer leads and key event contacts, be assigned specific tasks, and receive the necessary information for your volunteer role. 

Details regarding the training will be sent to you following your registration.

Practical Safety Precautions for Volunteering Outdoors in the Summer:

  • Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water throughout the day or your shift
  • Wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses
  • Dress in light, breathable clothing and comfortable shoes
  • Take regular breaks in shaded areas to rest and cool down
  • Familiarize yourself with the location of first aid stations
