New to iVolunteer.ca?
Create an iVolunteer.ca account and be sure to include your phone, email and postal code when registering. This will help us to identify volunteers in the area who may be able to assist.
- At the time you are creating your account, you will be asked to complete a free Criminal Record Check. This is not required for BC Wildfire emergency response roles but is recommended as it will help with other volunteer roles. For details on how to complete the free Criminal Record Check click HERE. Checks can take a few weeks to complete.
If you have any questions or would like help registering, please contact info@iVolunteer.ca.
Frequently Asked Questions
How might I be asked to help?
When a need is identified where volunteers are needed, you will receive an email indicating the need and commitment. Roles that we anticipate volunteers helping with may include:
- Pickup and delivery of critical need items - such as bedding, food and water.
- Food hamper packing.
- Tasks that require extra hands led by first responders.
Will I be trained in my role?
Yes, there will be a main contact person on the ground who will provide training.
When will I be contacted?
As needs are identified you will receive an email that will have more details on the specifics needed. You can respond directly to that email. By responding to the current opportunity page, you are indicating you wish to be notified of volunteer needs as they arise. We encourage everyone interested to sign up.
I was sent here by my workplace and would like to have my volunteer contribution linked to my United Way BC workplace campaign.
Please enter your workplace name in the response notes when you "Respond" to this opportunity. We will ensure your account is linked back to your workplace.
I do not live in the area, but I would like to help.
