Ducks Unlimited is a volunteer run organization made up of volunteer members. Members of the Kamloops Chapter attend several meetings a year where ideas are put forward and assessed for use in our fundraising efforts that support wetland and waterfowl conservation.
There are about 12 active members in the chapter that hold the responsible positions of Treasurer, Ticket Control, Arrangements, Soliciting and Chairperson. This volunteer opportunity is looking for someone to become Assistant to Treasurer/ticket control. This position would work with the Treasurer/Ticket control member and be prepared to take over if the person was unable to fulfill their duties.
Becoming Assistant to Treasurer/ticket control is perfect for someone who:
Has some accounting and organizational skills
Has some experience with taking payments, summarizing expenses/income, ticket tracking
Feels comfortable with basic computer skills, and data entry.
Is organized and detail-oriented
Can be relied on to handle sensitive financial information responsibly
Some training is available, but experience is a benefit.
The Assistant to Treasurer/ticket control would take part in chapter activities such as:
Correlating tickets with ticket income,
Tracking numbers of sold tickets and control of ticket locations
Depositing funds, organizing
Time Commitment
On average this position is expected to commit to 10 to 20 hours per year, including meetings and working time. They are also asked to help with the main fundraising event on Nov. 14. This includes set up during the day (10 am – 3 pm, if there is no class time conflict) and working the event from 5 to 11 in the evening.
