The Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association (KCBIA) is a not-for-profit organization who represents the interests of approximately 750 businesses and 350 commercial properties in the downtown core.The KCBIA collaborates with our members and community partners to execute events and campaigns that drive traffic to our members and to showcase downtown as a vital part of our community as well as a great place to do business.
A Santa Claus Parade Volunteer helps bring the holiday magic to life by supporting event operations and ensuring the parade runs smoothly. Volunteers may assist with tasks such as guiding floats, providing information to spectators, and keeping the parade route safe and organized. Their role is essential in creating a fun, festive, and memorable experience for the community.
This is the right role for you if you are someone who:
Is comfortable moving and standing for hours at a time
Can work in Winter conditions
Is confident in guiding participants and spectators
Comfortable giving clear directions
Has an interest in community events
A Position Title Volunteer’s main tasks are:
Crowd Control (Keep spectators back, off the street, and away from parade floats, ensure people remain on sidewalks and do not flow onto the road)
Parade Control (Maintain 20–40 feet spacing between floats (no long gaps), Remind floats not to wait for walkers, Stop anyone from throwing items)
Volunteers must be comfortable standing for prolonged periods of time. Training will be conducted the day of the event
Time commitment: 4 hours (2:30 – 6:30 approx).This is a one-day commitment.
