Aunt Leah's Trees Customer Support Volunteers (Coquitlam)

Expiré

Description

Be a part of something wonderful this Christmas!

For 25+ years, Aunt Leah’s Trees has been selling quality, Christmas trees sourced locally from around BC and the Pacific Northwest to communities across Metro Vancouver.  Aunt Leah’s Trees is the one of the largest charity tree lots in Canada. Customers choose our tree lots over the competition, because of our friendly customer service (provided by AMAZING volunteers), superior selection of Christmas trees, and knowledge that their purchase is supporting youth.

We’re looking for volunteers to be a part of our Customer Support Team. Customer Support volunteers love to help customers find their perfect Christmas Tree. They are comfortable approaching customers and are open to getting their hands dirty using the Tree Baler or Cross-Cut Saw. Customer Support volunteers might also be called to unload trees, hang signs or help with deliveries. It is important that volunteers understand that tasks are delegated by each tree lot manager. You may be asked to do any of the duties listed below:

  • Help customers select a tree
  • Explain benefits of each tree
  • Recommend accessories
  • Unload trees from trunk
  • Organize trees
  • Wrap purchased trees (using the tree baler)
  • Keep tree lot clean
  • Saw off tree trunk ends
  • Bring purchased trees to customer vehicles

How this works

Arrive at the tree lot at 2813 Glen Drive in Coquitlam 10 minutes before your shift. You’ll be met by the tree lot manager who will provide you with a disposable mask and brief you on your task.

During your shift please remember to maintain physical distancing by keeping a 2-metre distance between yourself and others.

Contact: Please contact Hope at hrayson@auntleahs.org if you have questions.

Time Commitment: 4 hours. This is a recurring commitment to fulfil an immediate need. You may sign up for one or more shifts.

Please review Aunt Leah's Tree Volunteer Guide for full details

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR VOLUNTEERS: Please contact Hope and info@ivolunteer.ca immediately if:

  • you feel unwell before or on the day of your shift. Please stay home and do not volunteer.
  • you are unable to fulfil your shift commitment. If possible, please try to provide a minimum notice of two days to allow us to make alternate arrangements or find another volunteer.

REMINDER: It’s important to unregister yourself from the shift if you’re unable to fulfil your commitment – this will allow another volunteer to register for your spot.

Your health and safety are important to us

Maintain physical distancing by keeping a minimum 2-meter distance between you and any other person not in your immediate family.

Wearing a non-medical mask or face covering while out in public is recommended for periods of time when it's not possible to consistently maintain a 2-metre physical distance from others, particularly in crowded public settings.

Avoid touching your face and in particular your eyes, nose and mouth.

Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and often. Wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds and rinse under clean running water.

If you are unwell, please stay home and do not volunteer. If you are at all unsure of your health status, the BC Centre for Disease Control’s online self-assessment tool is available at https://covid19.thrive.health/
