Description:
The United Way BC211 Outreach Project is an educational outreach event, with the purpose to spread information about the fundamental services 211 provides, volunteers will be asked to share promotional material about BC211.
Why:
United Way 211 number provides free and anonymous referral information for community, government and social services to vulnerable people in BC. From the number of available shelter beds for tonight in downtown Abbotsford to a support service for a senior who just lost their partner; 211 is a help line created and maintained through United Way supporters like yourself that establishes a safety net for those going through challenging times.
But what is the point of having this amazing service if people in our community are unaware about its existence? By participating in this initiative you will be supporting people from all walks of life in learning about this amazing service that can change their lives or of someone they know. Knowing about 211 can change the live of a co-worker who is going through a divorce, or of a student that is struggling with anxiety.
Join us for a time of outreach and education, sharing information about this great United Way service with our neighbours and colleagues.
