Description

Can you help us pick up a few pieces of furniture and bagged/boxed items and deliver it to Value Village as a donation for a neighbour?

We need two volunteers with at least one large vehicle to pick up a shelving unit with two shelves, a coffee table, 4 boxes and 5 bags of other items for donation from an apartment building lobby in Abbotsford and deliver to Value Village on South Fraser Way as a donation. Note: you will need to be physically able to share the load of carrying the shelving unit, coffee table and other boxes/bags of items.

How this works:

Once you’ve registered, we’ll provide you with details on how to contact the neighbour. Please contact the neighbour 24-48 hours before pick up to confirm details such where to access the lobby of the building, the best time for pick up, and further instructions.

Contact:

Please contact Bethany at (BethanyV@uwlm.ca) if you have questions.

Your health and safety are important to us

Maintain physical distancing by keeping a minimum 2-meter distance between you and any other person not in your immediate family.

Wearing a non-medical mask or face covering while out in public is recommended for periods of time when it's not possible to consistently maintain a 2-metre physical distance from others, particularly in crowded public settings.

Avoid touching your face and in particular your eyes, nose and mouth.

Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and often. Wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds and rinse under clean running water.

If you are unwell, please stay home and do not volunteer. If you are at all unsure of your health status, the BC Centre for Disease Control’s online self-assessment tool is available at https://covid19.thrive.health/.
