About the event:
The 10th Annual United Way South Okanagan Drive Thru Breakfast will once again be hosted at the Penticton Lakeside Resort this spring on March 2, 2022.
Help make this signature community event a success by signing up to be a volunteer!
During the past couple of months, the many United Way funded programs that support the most vulnerable, need the help of our entire community to continue to meet the needs of the people who seek help – especially now more than ever due to the impact of COVID-19 and unprecedented climate emergencies faced in our region. Local love from our community has helped raise more than $140,000 over the last 9 years. All dollars raised will be invested directly in local programs and services, from Summerland to Osoyoos to help over 3,000 vulnerable people and families to build a better life.
At 6:30am, the Penticton Lakeside Resort main entrance transforms into a Drive-Thru experience like no other! In 2020, 900+ breakfast bags were delivered by volunteers and sponsors to Drive-Thru guests, in exchange for donations in support of your community. The bags - loaded with locally donated treats plus a hot breakfast - are valued at well over $50 each! It is a fun, inspiring and highly visible community event. We expect plenty of local businesses participating, as one of the rare pandemic events that can go ahead with full social distancing.
What you will be helping with:
- Packing breakfast bags filled with goodies donated by local businesses
- Handing out bags, items and grand prizes safely on the day of the event
- Collect generous donations from the community at large
- Usher traffic and ensure the safety and security of all attendees
