Description

Be A Zero Waste Hero on Saturday June 13, 11am-8pm, Douglas Park, Langley City

Up to 30 volunteers required to staff 5 waste stations, 3 hours each, 11am-2pm, 2pm-5pm, 5pm-8pm

Do you have a passion for sustainability? Help reduce the environmental impact of a fun community event! Be a Zero Waste Hero and help LEPS to create a zero-waste event at City of Langley Community Day! Volunteers are needed to help manage waste stations at the event to ensure that we divert as much waste as possible. Zero Waste Heroes drive waste reduction and environmental stewardship, helping sort materials and keep as much as possible out of landfill.

Duties include interacting with attendees to help them sort their trash into the proper waste receptacles and removing/reloading bags at the waste stations. You will be provided with aprons, gloves and litter tongs. Volunteers contributing at least 3 hours at the event will receive a complimentary City of Langley recreation centre pass!
