In 2017, United Way of the Lower Mainland piloted a “Tampon Tuesday” initiative, collecting over 30,000 menstrual products for our community agencies in the Lower Mainland. In 2018, donations increased over 220,000 individual products!
This year we hope to collect even more donations to support vulnerable people in our own neighbourhoods.
But after our product drive has finished, we need your help to stack our donations and build our menstrual mountain!
Purpose of position:
Supports organization and logistics of product brought to the United Way of the Lower Mainland office during the Period Promise campaign.
Duties of the Position:
- Volunteer has the responsibility of being on time for their shifts
- Volunteer will assist in the arranging and stacking of menstrual products to build a focus point for our celebration event
- Volunteer will act and behave ethically and politely keeping the best interest of the United Way of the Lower Mainland Period Promise campaign in mind
Work Environment:
Volunteer will work primarily on site (United Way of the Lower Mainland office) moving and stacking product
Commitment required:
Need to be available for one shift on April 4
Skills, Experience and/or Qualifications required:
- Being able to lift a box weighting up to 15 kilograms is a requirement for the role
- Punctuality
- Attention to detail
- Professionalism
- Safety oriented
Training provided:
Volunteers will attend a 15-minute training session at the beginning of the selected shift.
Additional information:
Volunteers will be required to wear appropriate footwear (non-slip, closed toe, etc)
