United Way British Columbia’s Period Promise campaign presented by Pacific Blue Cross in Partnership with CUPE 1816 aims to collect 700,000 menstrual products to fight period poverty. Over 95% of local community-serving organizations report that they are asked by their clientele if they can provide free menstrual products or know where any can be found; and for those that do provide the products, at least 80% of them depend on donations from the public through campaigns like Period Promise.
The Period Promise Inventory Volunteer is responsible for counting donations as well as preparing bundles of donated menstrual products to be picked up or delivered to local agencies. This is a one-time volunteer opportunity at the end of our collection campaign when our generous partners and donors bring donated products to the UWBC office. All details will be coordinated prior to scheduling.
Please direct any questions about this opportunity to PeriodPromise@uwbc.ca.
