Join us for a meaningful celebration around Fanesca, a symbol of Ecuador's rich heritage blending indigenous and colonial influences. Sample this traditional dish while exploring Ecuador's history, the impacts of colonialism on Ecuadorian culture, and the unity Fanesca brings to the community.
About the volunteer role:
Volunteering for this event is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a cultural exploration, uncovering the stories that have shaped Ecuadorian culture through the lens of its most iconic meal, especially during Easter.
The event begins at 3 pm. Please arrive by 2:30 pm to meet the Community Builder (Javier) for a briefing on your volunteer responsibilities and to help set up.
Duties:
Pre-event set-up:
- Set up and organize the registration table
- Set up ingredients for Fanesca.
Event duties:
- Greet attendees and manage sign-ins
- Provide information, and ensure a smooth registration process.
Post-event clean-up:
- Put away tables and chairs, pack up materials
- Ensure the venue is left in excellent conditions
