Do you or your family ever wish you could trick-or-treat more than once a year? Come for trick-or-treating in the park on Oct 30 and still have time on Halloween night!
Join us for an afternoon of SPOOK-tacular outdoor Halloween fun on Sunday, Oct 30 at Griner Park on Janzen Avenue.
Dress up in your favourite costume and celebrate the spooky season in your neighbourhood between 3:30-6:30pm, with the following activities:
- Pumpkin carving (jack-o-lantern) judging and awards
- NOTE: for safety reasons, please bring your pumpkins already carved
- “Trick-or-treating” stations to hand out candy
- Face painting
- Live music
We need donations of prizes for the pumpkin carving contest! Our local Community Builder Stefany is coordinating this event - if you are able to contribute prizes or have questions about volunteering please reach out to her:

- Handing out candy from 3:30pm-6:30pm
- 1.5 hour shift is still available if you are unable to do the entire time
- Families are welcome to volunteer together if they want to give the kids a chance to collect candy and then hand some out :)
- Event set up & take down (including tents, tables & signage)
- set up - 3 pm to 3:30 pm
- take down - 6:30 pm to 7 pm
We expect there could be several hundred community members attending over the course of the event as they come by to "trick-or-treat" and view/enter the pumpkin carving contest.
Free hot chocolate and chai tea available for all attending! Event occurs rain or shine. We will have multiple tents available in case of wet weather. Please dress warmly/appropriately.
It’s been a few years since we’ve all been able to get together in late fall - and we want you to come celebrate with us as we work to create a safe and fun event for all. This event welcomes people even if they don't celebrate Halloween - join us and connect with community, enjoy autumn, and savour some candy!
