Join Bridging Generations, a free intergenerational program by Low Entropy Foundation that brings youth and seniors together through conversation, shared learning, storytelling, and community connection.

Through this program, youth volunteers will build relationships with older adults, learn from their experiences, share their own perspectives, and help create a stronger, more connected community.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Participate in program orientationAttend scheduled program sessionsEngage in conversations, storytelling, and shared activities with senior participantsParticipate in group activities and community-building experiencesCommunicate with program staff as needed

Role Overview

As a Donation Transport (Driver) Volunteer, you will play a key role in helping our thrift store operate efficiently by transporting unsellable items to a designated location 15-20 minutes away. Your support ensures that our store remains organized and that all items are redirected responsibly.

Responsibilities

Arrange a weekly schedule of pick up from our storeCheck-in with staff to confirm which items need transport.Load items into your vehicle from the back door of the store. Our team members can support with this.Drive items to the designated location and unload.

As a volunteer, you'll support day-to-day operations and help create a positive, respectful experience for everyone in our store. Tasks include:

Optional: Interested in cashiering? We offer cashier training for volunteers who are comfortable with processing payments. Only trained volunteers will be assigned to the till.

Please note that not all of these shifts are currently available. 

Volunteers recieve a certificate upon completing the Retail & Customer Service Skills training

If volunteers complete 100 total volunteer hours, they are elligible for a certificate upon request

Location:

Minimum Age to Volunteer: 16 years old

Are you between 16 and 24? You may also be eligible for our Thrift & Thrive youth internship program! This program offers extra leadership workshops, mentorship, and a certificate of completion. Learn more here.
