Volunteer: Seeking Board Members for Grassroots Seniors Focused Charity

We're Growing Our Small but Mighty Board Team!

Do you believe seniors deserve better?

Do you get frustrated seeing older adults struggle to access the support they need to remain safe, independent, and connected in their own homes?

Or maybe you have professional skills, lived experience, community connections, or simply a desire to make a meaningful difference.

More at Home Society is a BC-based charity helping low- and moderate-income seniors access the home support services they need to age safely and with dignity. We provide financial assistance for home care, connect seniors to community resources, and advocate for those who fall into the "grey area" between public and private care. Our goal is simple: help seniors stay where they want to be most... at home.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for passionate Board Members to join our amazing team.

We're especially interested in:

• Seniors and retirees who want to share their wisdom and lived experience • Professionals with skills in finance, law, healthcare, fundraising, marketing, HR, governance, business development, technology, or communications
• Community builders and advocates who care about fairness, dignity, and social change
• People who may not have board experience but have heart, commitment, and a willingness to learn

Why join us?
Because right now, too many seniors are forced to choose between paying for care and paying for necessities. Many are isolated, struggling, or facing the possibility of forcibly leaving their homes for institutions simply because they cannot access enough support.

As a Board Member, you'll help shape a growing organization that is tackling these challenges head-on. You'll contribute ideas, expertise, and leadership that directly impact the lives of seniors across British Columbia.

What you'll gain:
• The opportunity to create meaningful change
• Leadership and governance experience
• Connections with passionate community leaders
• The satisfaction of knowing your contributions help seniors live with dignity, choice, and independence.

You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to care.

If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back, use your skills, challenge injustice, and be part of something growing, we'd love to hear from you.

Join us today and help us create a future where every senior has the support they need to age safely at home. Interested?

Join the Team Behind a Sold-Out Success!

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the Event Committee for Country for a Cause 2026, taking place on October 24th in Pitt Meadows.

Last year's event sold out in just two weeks, brought together 250 incredible guests, and raised much-needed funds to help local seniors remain safe, independent, and supported at home.

This year, we're doing it all again and we'd love some great people to join us.

We're building a team where everyone brings their own strengths, ideas, connections, and enthusiasm to the table.

*Some committee members may help secure sponsorships.
*Some may focus on auction items.
*Others may assist with planning, promotion, marketing, logistics, volunteer coordination, guest experience, or helping things run smoothly before, during, and after the event.

What we all have in common is a desire to create an unforgettable evening while raising funds for a cause that matters.

Why Join?
*Meet amazing people and expand your network
*Use your talents and skills for something meaningful

If you've been looking for a way to give back, meet great people, and be part of a sold-out community event with a proven track record of success, we'd love to hear from you.
