·        Treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and compassion

·        Always maintain strict confidentiality

 What We’re Looking For:

·        Warm, patient, and empathetic individuals who enjoy spending time with seniors

·        Able to commit to weekly visits and build rapport over time

·        Must complete a Criminal Record Check for the vulnerable sector

·        Provide two references

Volunteer: Grant Writer

We are looking for volunteers whose primary responsibility will be identifying grants that the Ukraine Harmony Foundation qualifies for, followed by writing grant proposals. This role also involves researching each grant to understand its objectives and ensuring our foundation aligns with the grant’s goals. Occasionally, volunteers will be required to email and arrange meetings with grant providers to gather additional details and ask questions.

*Note: Volunteers must not use ChatGPT or similar AI tools for writing grant proposals, as many grant organizations check for AI-generated content, and detection would negatively affect our organization.

*Note 2: This is a fully remote volunteer position.

Volunteer: TRU Student Volunteer Position - Safe Play: Injury Prevention & Wellness Program

Help others stay active, play safely, and keep coming back to the game they love.

Kamloops Pickleball Club (KPC) is a vibrant, fast-growing sport club with over 500 active members ranging from casual players to passionate competitors. We’re looking for a team of 2 - 3 motivated students to help us shape a wellness-focused safety program designed for real players in a volunteer-run environment.

This isn’t a fitness class or exercise design role. Instead, you’ll help us create a clear, simple structure for encouraging smart movement, safe play habits, and injury awareness — using guidance from qualified partners and reviewed materials.

Training will be provided by our Project Liaisons. Volunteers will receive clarification of the project objectives, along with an orientation to our club's mission, structure, website and available resources. Our Project Liaisons will also be available to provide on-going support throughout the project, facilitating collaboration and communication between the project team and Kamloops Pickleball Club and working with the team to keep the project moving forward.

What You’ll Do

Research injury trends in recreational pickleball and similar sports

Help structure a “Safe Play” concept that fits our club setting

Draft education-based materials (e.g., tip sheets, signage, basic warm-up visuals) using information sourced from credible wellness or health partners

Suggest delivery methods that suit a volunteer-run club — such as signage, short talks, or peer-led moments before games

Propose a simple framework for future volunteers (e.g., “Wellness Captains”) to support safe play on an ongoing basis

Work in partnership with your KPC liaison, who will handle all outreach or approvals related to external organizations (e.g., Inspire Chiropractic)

What You Bring

You’re studying kinesiology, health sciences, physical education, or a related field

You’re interested in injury prevention, movement awareness, and community wellness

You’re comfortable turning evidence-based concepts into simple, relatable ideas

You’re collaborative, practical, and understand the importance of staying within scope

What You’ll Gain

Experience structuring health education in a real-world, community-based setting

A tangible project for your portfolio or resume

Mentorship from volunteers and support from your KPC project liaison

The opportunity to improve safety and confidence for hundreds of recreational athletes

A clear role in designing for real-world impact — without overstepping your field of practice

Time Commitment

Flexible hours, approximately 2–4 hours per week

Mix of virtual and in-person collaboration based on your preference and availability

Ideal for a 2–3month project window (to be confirmed based on your schedule)

Make your mark on a growing community – one post at a time.

Kamloops Pickleball Club (KPC) is a vibrant, fast-growing sport club with over 500 active members ranging from casual players to passionate competitors. We’re looking for a motivated student to help us level up our social media and public presence — and we want your ideas.

This isn’t a content grind. It’s a chance to step back, take a strategic look, and shape how we communicate who we are. Training will be provided by our Project Liaisons. Volunteers will receive clarification of the project objectives, along with an orientation to our club's mission, structure, website and available resources.

Our Project Liaisons will also be available to provide on-going support throughout the project: facilitating collaboration and communication between the project team and Kamloops Pickleball Club and working with the team to keep the project moving forward.

What You’ll Do

Audit our existing social platforms, and possibly our newsletter and website

Identifywhat’s working, what’s missing, and what could be more engaging

Propose a social media strategy that fits a volunteer-run club

Develop sample content ideas such as member stories, club updates, or rule tips

Create a lightweight content calendar and plug-and-play templates future volunteers can easily use

Bonus: If you have ideas for creative formats — video, photo stories, reels — we’re open

What You Bring

You’re studying communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or something adjacent

You understand what makes content engaging and community-driven

You can write in a warm, friendly, inclusive voice — or are willing to learn

You’re organized, creative, and interested in building something sustainable
