Who We Are

Project Empathic is a youth-led organization committed to sparking classroom action against homelessness through high-impact education and hand-made student cards delivered directly to unhoused people. Our work is grounded in eradicating the stigma that perpetuates homelessness, beginning with tomorrow’s leaders—inspiring empathy and teaching others the value of kindness.

What We Do

Our team of high school and university students runs interactive workshops in elementary school classrooms across BC to discuss the systemic roots of homelessness and unpack common stereotypes to teach empathy. Following our workshops, teachers work with students to create cards for people experiencing homelessness, so that the students may tackle the housing crisis themselves and personally invest in the matter. Our team then directly distributes the cards in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
