Who We Are

Jr. Black Achievement Awards (JrBAA) Society offers educational programs, recognition, awards and provides financial assistance for post-secondary education to successful applicants of the Black community in BC. 

Our Mission

We empower Black youth and their families through training, recognition, and access to education.

We are working towards a community that celebrates the successes, culture, and heritage of the Black community in BC.

What We Do

The JrBAA Society offers a variety of education workshops and events to unite our community and empower our youth.

Our programs provide opportunities which foster advancement through intergenerational training and mentoring to promote and nuture a deeper appreciation of our cultural diversity and heritage. 

We offer training and education in communication and leadership skills, health and wellness, money matters, community activism and civic engagement. 

We provide scholarships to those interested in obtaining a post-secondary education. 

The Annual Jr. Black Achievement Awards Educational Weekend Retreat highlights a trades panel and a speech competition.
