EAA Ethiopian Affairs Association in BC envisions a vibrant and active Ethiopian in British Colombia. Our vision is to preserve our rich Ethiopian Heritage and to ensure that all members are actively involved and share mutual respect.

Ethiopian is one of the oldest kingdoms of Africa, a country never been colonized, rich in history and culture, Having its own calendar and alphabet. EAA has a vision to build Ethiopian cultural center in British Colombia to preserve and promote the unique and untouched culture and history of Ethiopia.

EAA ETHIOPIAN Affairs in BC mission is to bring Ethiopians together, to promote and preserve the Ethiopian Heritage in Canada for our present and future generations to hold and cherish and ensure sustainable celebration of Ethio Canadian Heritage from one generation to the next…

PURPOSE

EAA Ethiopian Affairs Associations in BC Established with the ultimate purpose to meet the social, cultural, artistic, needs of Ethiopians, Canadians and residents of British Colombia by sharing the untouched unique and ancient traditions, culture and history of Ethiopia into British Colombia for the development of beautiful Mosaic literature and heritages of BC.

The purpose of the society is:

  • To promote and preserve the rich heritage and traditions of our ancestors as well as create connectivity to the present
  • Committed to social Justice and freedom
  • Devoted to promoting Ethiopian Culture through theory, literature, music and the arts. Enriching the lives of Ethiopian and Ethio Canadian in BC.
  • Bringing Ethiopians with their fellow African decent brothers and sisters in BC
    together.
  • Annually commemorating Ethiopian victory against colonialism at the battle of Adwa
    (march1,1986) the first black people victory against colonialism. conducting Great
    Black Victory walk in Greater Vancouver.
  • To Coordinate and provide substance abuse awareness programs through different
    media to Ethiopian community in BC.
  • Undertake Expos, events that allow residents of British Colombia to learn about
    Ethiopia and its Culture and traditions.
  • Educate ourselves and the Ethiopians about the History, heritage and current affairs of
    Both Ethiopia and Canada.
