Who We Are

About Us and History

The Prince George Council of Seniors (PGCOS) was formed in 1990 by a group of local seniors at 4th & Brunswick Seniors Centre who believed in the benefits of group advocacy. Each group contributed $50 to get the organization started. The original group did not consider what to call their new organization. When the first Secretary/Treasurer went to open their first bank account, she was asked for the name of the organization. Thinking quickly, she came up with “Prince George Council of Seniors” and it’s been that ever since!
