Who We Are

We are Iranian and Afghan immigrant women who live in the province of British Columbia. Like other newcomers, we have faced many challenges since the first days of arrival.

Among the most important of them are not having sufficient command of the English language, and finding the right house, Job, and other things. After struggling with these challenges for a while, we decided to develop our knowledge and awareness of the laws, increase citizenship rights and available resources and information.

What We Do

We participated in numerous educational programs which are provided for newcomers and women's groups.

By doing voluntary and practical work for institutions and organizations serving newly arrived immigrants; While raising the level of awareness of the necessary resources and information to improve the resettlement process, we became more familiar with the obstacles and challenges faced by newcomers, especially women.

The most basic obstacle upon arrival is the lack of access to resources in the Farsi/Dari language or limited access to translators, which we have all experienced upon arrival in Canada, and due to the increasing arrival of Farsi/Dari language immigrants, these shortages are increasing day by day.

Therefore, we decided to create an information services group in Farsi/Dari language.

Our group tries to minimize these challenges.
