Vancouver Women's Health Collective

Who We Are

The Vancouver Women's Health Collective is a feminist community health organization rooted in the Downtown Eastside for over 55 years. Founded on principles of equity, self-determination, and collective care, we are led by and for women and gender-diverse folks who have been most harmed by systems that were never designed with them in mind. We operate from 29 West Hastings Street — at the heart of one of the most underserved and resilient communities in Canada — guided by decolonial, trauma-informed, and harm reduction frameworks that honour the full complexity of the lives we share.

What We Do

We offer a wide range of low-barrier, (w)holistic programs and services designed to support the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of women and gender-diverse participants in the DTES and beyond. From peer-led wellness drop-ins and the Radical Bites nutrition program, to the Conscious Closet clothing exchange and the Renewal Lounge, our work meets folks where they are — without judgment, without conditions. We also provide advocacy support, community connections, and referrals to wraparound services, because we know that health is inseparable from housing, food, safety, and belonging.
