Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House is a community service organization serving the Hastings-Sunrise community. We are looking for individuals who are willing to deliver care packages to seniors in our neighbourhood. Volunteers will be comfortable with using their own car to deliver items such as groceries, hot meals, heavy household items and/or craft supplies to seniors. They will be able to work independently as well as with a culturally diverse team to support community programs. Working under the general direction of the Intergenerational Coordinator, the volunteer delivery drivers will be contributing to a vibrant community that cares for and empowers seniors to live well.

Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House/ANHBC is committed to protecting the health and safety of its employees, volunteers, and the community. Subject to legal exemptions, proof of COVID-19 vaccination status will be required for all new hires & volunteers.

 

Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required. Milage will be reimbursed.

 

Position: Delivery Drivers

Hours: Minimum one shift every month (Shifts are approximately 2 hours.)

Method: In person

Timeline: Beginning in mid-May. Orientation and training will be provided prior to start date.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Attending an orientation and training session for volunteer drivers

- Picking up care packages from Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House

- Delivering care packages to seniors in the neighbourhood

- Ensuring items are delivered in good condition

- Documenting deliveries made and reporting to program staff

- Offering friendly communication and support to seniors

- Notifying program staff of any issues with the delivery or seniors needs that they are informed of
