About the Event

The Power of Unity: Champions Meet & Mingle event is a unique opportunity to connect, inspire, and strengthen the bonds among community leaders and changemakers in Edmonds. This event celebrates the power of unity and fosters meaningful conversations among community champions.

Volunteers will have the chance to meet these champions, network with other leaders committed to driving positive change, and hear inspiring stories about the impactful work being done in the community.

Volunteer Shifts, Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking 12 volunteers to help make this event successful.


Team A: Morning Shift (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM: 6 volunteers)

Setup and Preparation (10:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

All Team A volunteers to assist with event set-up tasks:

  • Arrange tables, chairs, and decorations.
  • Set up registration tables with name tags and materials.
  • Set up the projector and audio system and test microphones/slides.

Registration and Sign-In (11:00 AM – 11:30 AM) 

  • 2 volunteers will greet participants and direct them to the registration table. 
  • 2 volunteers will manage participation registration
  • 2 volunteers will direct participants to their assigned tables and answer general questions.

Lunch Stations (12:30 PM – 1:15 PM) 

  • 4 volunteers will help serve lunch and replenish food and beverages as needed. 
  • 2 volunteers will keep the lunch area tidy, assist with serving lunch and replenishing food if needed, and encourage participants to network informally

Lunch break: 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM. Please feel free to leave after lunch, or you can stay for the remainder of the program.


Team B: Afternoon Shift (12:30 PM – 2:45 PM: 6 volunteers)

Lunch Break: 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM. Please arrive in time to have some lunch before you begin your shift.

Recognition Ceremony and Guest Speaker Support (1:15 PM – 1:50 PM)

  • 4 volunteers will distribute certificates or tokens of appreciation.
  • 2 volunteers will assist guest speakers.

Slack Registration and Technical Assistance (1:50 PM – 2:10 PM)

  • 3 volunteers will staff Slack registration tables and provide QR codes.
  • 3 volunteers will assist participants with technical issues.

Cleanup (2:30 PM – 2:45 PM)

All Team B volunteers to assist with event clean-up tasks:

  • Clear tables, put away chairs, and take down decorations.
  • Clear up food and dispose of garbage
  • Pack up equipment and materialsEnsure the venue is left clean

Information Session: All volunteers will receive an email invitation to attend an online information session before the event.
