Mission Community Services Society is looking for volunteers who enjoy driving and connecting with seniors!
This flexible opportunity allows volunteer drivers to choose the trips that best fit their schedules.
Transportation to medical appointments are available to seniors. Screened volunteers provide transportation services from Mission to as far east as Chilliwack and as far west as Vancouver. Volunteer drivers pick up the senior at their residences and drives them to their appointment destination. The driver will help the client into the doctor's office, wait for them and then drive them home.
Requirements
- A valid full driver’s license and safe driving record
- Complete a Criminal Record Check
- Access to a vehicle that is roadworthy and reliable
- Submit a Driver's Abstract
Parking costs are paid by the senior, and mileage is reimbursed through the program. There is no cost for either the criminal record check or driver's abstract and we can help you with both.
